Finally recovering from SXSW. Crazy week saw and worked with a lot of awesome bands.
We recorded almost 30 bands between the Do512 lounge sessions and Austin Music Weekly live sessions at 5th St. Check out Austinmusicweekly.com for the videos! Local electronic prog rock heros Zorch have sabatoged 5th St with engineer Evan Kleinecke working relentlessly on a new EP Nick Joswick is working around the clock with producer Rudy Jones on Tje Austin's new record, some amazing tracks on this one Producer Josh Blocke(White Denim) is working on local garage rockers The Act Rights first EP release, this is an all analog recording with instrumentation tracked live in the live room. Danny Reisch spent the first few days of February mixing Bright Light Social Hour's live from the Parish dvd at Lakeside, Also Danny spent over two weeks mixing Mr. Lewis and the Funeral 5's upcoming album being released on Chicken Ranch Records Danny is currently mixing Michael Kincaid's(What made Millwaukee Famous) new solo record. Producer Mike Shears formerly of promise Land Studios is working on several projects at 5th St. The Hours band spent a day at 5th St Street mixing tracks off their upcoming album Producer Hunt Sales spent a week cutting with Boise ID based band Muffalo for their upcoming album to be mixed by Paul Leary. White Denim has been in the studio the last 4 weeks recording their next album. All I can say is amazing. This record is all analog, straight to 2 inch tape mix down to the Atr 102 1/2". I am convinced I could spend the rest of my days never recording to Pro Tools. There is no comparison, anyone who says differently has never sat behind a Neve tracking to a Studer. Danny recorded some amazing drum tracks last week with Nick assisting:
